General Election – November 5, 2024

Information

The State of Vermont will mail an absentee ballot to all registered voters prior to the November general election.

There are two ways to vote:

  1. Early Voting:

Use the absentee ballot sent by the state to vote – return the voted ballot by mail to the Stamford Town Office or deliver your voted ballot to the Town Office by 7 p.m. on November 5, 2024.  There is a mail slot in the back wall of the Town Office where you can return your voted ballot at any time.

  1. In Person Voting:

The polls will be open on November 5, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Bring your absentee ballot which was previously mailed to you to the polls to vote in person.  If you do not have your absentee ballot with you, you must sign an Affidavit of No Ballot Cast in order to receive a new ballot.

If your address changed after September 9, 2024 and/or you do not receive an absentee ballot in the mail, contact the Stamford Town Office.  You will be given an Affidavit of No Ballot Cast to affirm that you will only vote once in the November 5, 2024 election and you will be issued a new ballot.

Be sure to turn the ballot over when voting as the town’s local election for Justice of the Peace is on the backside of the ballot.

You can review and update your voter information at Vermont’s online My Voter Page at mvp.vermont.gov.

If you have additional questions, contact the Stamford Town Office at 802-694-1361 or townclerk@stamfordvt.net.
